After finishing her time at the Obuda Academy of Artist Painters in Hungary, Edina Ardey moved to Munich in 1998. Nowadays, she lives and exhibits her work in Budapest alongside her husband, award-winning artist Laszlo Gyemant. Her figurative art is easy to recognise by its dark, shady tones. Her portraits, mostly self-portraits, are not flattering but ruminative, full of inner conflict and exhibiting the results of close observation.
