Stephen Boyce: a poem

Nest

See this light-as-a-feather coracle of love,

constructed from jetsam and shavings,

fibres and twigs, each stem of grass,

every strand of moss, snagged wool,

shaken-out tuft of hair, woven

with care to the curve of cupped palms,

hands shaped to a gesture of giving –

birthplace, nursery, schoolroom, home.

Listen! This bowl is singing.

Fab poem Stephen -- it all fits together -- like a nest.
